E-Commerce Country Manager Barcelona

(Eastern EU market)



 The Role


We are currently seeking an adaptable and driven Country Manager to launch new business operations over the Eastern European market. In this role, you will be responsible for the success of our client's expansion into new markets, overseeing all aspects of the business. In order to succeed in this position, you need to be highly driven, have a passion for E-commerce and Digital Marketing, and a desire to build new business operations from the ground up.

Based in Barcelona, our client is a key player in ecommerce for the retail industry, with extensive operations worldwide.


Your mission


  • Managing the launch of new E-commerce websites aimed to the eastern EU market, with particular focus on Romanian and Slovakian markets (with possible expansion to Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary and Czech Republic).
  • Coordinating a team of Web designers, Video producers, Copywriters, Digital Advertisers, SEO and Social media experts in order to successfully launch new e-shops.
  • Market Analysis to understand how products should be pushed to the right audience through the right Digital media channels.
  • Business/Marketing plan creation, including budgets and forecast. Work to ensure deadlines are met and budgets are maintained.
  • Leverage on raw data to take informed Business Intelligence decisions through Data Analysis and BI tools.
  • Managing overall E-commerce operations, from Market Analysis to Finance, legal compliance and Digital advertising.
  • Monthly/quarterly/annual performance KPI and progress reports to Upper Management.
  • Provide leadership and direction to cross functional team while working with other Country Managers and cross departments to capture and optimise synergies.




  • Master’s graduate (MSc/MA) in e-commerce, business engineering or any related field.
  • Prior experience in a similar role and industry.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work with little supervision. Lean start-up mentality highly valuable.
  • Passionate about e-commerce and Digital Marketing, sound knowledge of Digital Acquisition and Retention technologies such as Google Ads, Facebook Ads, email-marketing/CRM, RTB and affiliation.
  • Results driven, demonstrated experience of hitting quarterly targets on tight deadlines within assigned budgets.
  • Strong communication and people management skills.
  • Able to present meaningful data to stakeholders in a clear and concise way through Excel, Tableau and other data visualisation tools.
  • Solid understanding of budgeting, financial planning and forecasting.
  • Knowledge of Shopify, Magento and other e-commerce platforms an advantage.
  • Fluent spoken/written English + 1 or more Eastern European languages.
